Short vignette titled "Una casa propia" from the novel "La casa en Mango Street."
There are seven questions for close reading and inference. Key is provided.
Great for HW assignment since it's short. The next day, I group students and they compare their answers and discuss the vignette.
This vignette makes a nice addition to my Family and Communities unit. I have students talk about the house of their dreams. Where would they live? What neighborhood? What city? How many rooms they would like to have in their dream house? What colors would they paint each room? etc. Great writing prompt for the Conditional tense.
