This assessment is designed for partners to work on over the course of an entire month during the 3rd or 4th marking periods. The IPA-style assessment will evaluate students' writing, oral, and investigative abilities as they research, organize, and synthesize grammar, vocabulary, and cultural traditions of various cities in Spain in a cumulative tourism video. It is also a great way for students to get to know the diverse regions of Spain! Students will use online investigative strategies, Padlet technology to organize ideas, and WeVideo technology to create their final video product. The grammar and vocabulary portions of the project can be modified or tailored to your curriculum's benchmarks or can go alongside McDougall Littel's "En Español Level 2" Unit 4 as it is shown here. This project is great in that it caused students to bring together all their learning into a presentational video that they were proud to show to the class. Students also evaluated each video based on its ability to convince and inform them as possible tourists post-viewing using Google Forms and Google Draw. Feel free to use this template as it would work best for your class! Be sure to read through entire document and modify for your classes. An example of how I assigned partners and cities is included at the bottom of the document. I gave the students one day per week to work with their partners for 1/2 of a 90-minute block, but otherwise it was done on their own time. Rubric included.
