Product Description
This is a one-page reading with comprehension questions using an excerpt from Harriet Beecher Stowe's novel, "Uncle Tom's Cabin". Students will get a glimpse of the words that brought about yet more tensions between the North and the South.

This is a topic that I do not spend a tremendous amount of time on, but want my students to be aware of the challenges with slavery in the United States. This is one more circumstance that led the US towards Civil War.

This can be used a an in-class assignment, homework or a "leave behind" for a substitute.

This product is included in my "US History Summary Reading Bundle".
