Learning one-to-one correspondence is an important objective for preschool children. This bright and engaging ocean-themed activity encourages children to “touch and count”. Show children how to use one finger and touch each object as they count aloud. As they do this, they are demonstrating knowledge of one-to-one correspondence! Fine motor skills are also used as children cut and paste numbers.
Print out a set of pages for each child to cut, count, and paste. If you choose, staple the pages together to make a book. Alternatively, you can cut, laminate, and even add velcro to pieces for a durable individual or small group activity.
