Underground Railroad Main Ideas and Supporting Details Pack
This 90 page Underground Railroad main idea and supporting detail game can be used to reinforce main ideas and supporting details, as well as, allow your students to learn more about/ or review the Underground Railroad. In this activity students match the main idea cards with supporting details. There are five main idea cards with four supporting details for each main idea in a set. This activity pack is also differentiated to include cards with two readability levels (high and low) and various activities to scaffold instruction (look after the list of included materials for differentiation activities).
Main Ideas covered: The Underground Railroad was a network of people who helped slaves escape to freedom in the North and in Canada, Fugitive slaves would use a variety of resources to help them travel north to reach freedom, Conductors often led runaway slaves along their trip along the Underground Railroad as they made their way to freedom, “Stations” or “depots” were used for hiding places for slaves to hide, rest, and eat food along the Underground Railroad, and Fugitive, or runaway, slaves traveled along the Underground Railroad using a variety of methods.
