Students follow a series of clues such as following the North Star, decoding a letter, finding a lantern, and navigating a map to make it from the south to the Promised Land. I like to have a slave hymn playing as the students enter the classroom and receive their first clue.
Teachers place the clues around the school or around the campus to give students an idea of how difficult it would have been to travel along the Underground Railroad. This is editable, so you can change font/style since it is not downloading perfectly. Plus, it allows you to make the locations more specific to your school/campus.
This comes complete with the steps, clues, printable map and flag.
