Students learn about the stylistic features of anime and engage in imaginative tasks by building on templates to create a new Pokemon styled character.
This product includes: a modelled exampled, a template for students to complete and character outlines. My experience is that this task works even for reluctant illustrators because even students who claim they cannot draw can add a tail or a third eye to an outline.
After inventing the creature students are then required to briefly describe and explain it.
Please note: This activity works better after students have 'had a go' at drawing anime eyes. There are several great clips on youtube based on the search term 'How to draw anime eyes?'
