How many times do you have students roll their eyes, place a hand on their hip, and claim they aren't exhibiting a negative attitude?
I've found that a lot of my students don't fully understand how nonverbal communication can completely change their intended message, so I set out to develop an activity that would help them.
This lesson includes 12 partner scenarios and 12 different emotions. Each pair of students will be given an emotion and a scenario to act out. The emotion won't always match the scenario, and that's ok! The point of the exercise is to show how all the nonverbal cues we use can completely change an intended message.
Includes a lesson plan with ASCA Mindsets and Behaviors Standards.
