PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

To be able to look into a women's purse or a man's wallet can reveal much about that person's interests and concerns. For instance, if a woman carries a make-up bag in her purse, it might suggest that she is overly concerned with how she looks. This lesson plan, created by High 5 Achievers and aligned to the Common Core State Standards, has students examine what they carry with them on a daily basis. Using this knowledge about themselves allows students to be engaged in the lesson. Students complete a graphic organizer that helps them to understand the characters in Tim O'Brien's novel, The Things They Carried. They can now better understand the meaning of what the soldiers carry to war and what that says about each soldier
