PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Teach your students about children with physical disabilities with these simple books and activities.

The main book comes in color and black and white and contains information about 12 children with different physical disabilities including visual impairments, hearing impairments, and mobility impairments. The first and last pages of the book explain how children with disabilities are often treated and what it means to be a good friend.

The shorter black and white book contains information about different physical disabilities and what it is like for children with those disabilities. This book can be copied and given to children to read and/or take home.

This packet also contains worksheets for writing information about each child (what their disability is, how it affects them, and what you can do to help), two quizzes (one fill in the blank and one multiply choice), and vocabulary cards about the words used in the book. The vocab cards also contain picture cards of each child to use as a sorting activity.


Here is a brief description of the 12 children you will learn about in the book.

Visual Impairments
Chen – born with strabismus
Christina – an accident caused her to become legally blind
Omar – born blind

Hearing Impairments
Dave – born deaf
Jessica – an accident left her partially deaf in one ear

Mobility Impairments
Bobby – muscular dystrophy
Peyton – cerebral palsy
Sydney – paralyzed from an accident
Emily – right arm amputated because of an accident
Alexander – born without his left arm
Paul – left leg amputated because of an infection
Maria – born without her right leg
