This lesson investigates the question "How does gravity affect the motion of Earth and other Objects?" This lesson focuses on gravity and truly understanding it. The students will explore topics like why the penguins in the South Pole don't fall off of Earth, gravity in outer space, what keeps the planets safely in orbit around our Sun, and learn about Isaac Newton with a fun animation! Students will learn about the difference between mass and weight, and gain crucial background information about gravity that will provide a framework for the rest of their life for (what in my opinion) is crucial background knowledge for a variety of other scientific topics, especially man of my other resources covering Earth in Space and Time.
