I tutor and home school students who have trouble learning and need extra help. A special needs student, who is very good at number recognition and counting, but has trouble understanding number sequencing, less than and greater than, before and after, and number patterning could be helped with these posters. I made these 8 ½” by 11” posters at various times to try to help my students.
I have found the posters do help students with understanding. The six different posters are all in color. I hope they can be of assistance to you.
“0 Is Smaller Than 1” Verse
This is a one page poster with simple phrases, displayed in a vertical column, saying “0 is smaller than 1” etc., up to 9, then “9 is larger than 8” etc., all the way back down to 0. Each phrase is on a separate line with the font getting larger as the numbers increase and then the font getting smaller as the numbers decrease.
Three Number Concept Symbols
This is a simple, one page poster with the three large symbols <, >, and = on it in a large font.
Counting Twisting Paths
In my effort to give additional help in understanding these number concepts, I made two twisting paths. One path is 0 to 100 and the other is 100 to 200. Boys, dogs, and cats are all running on the path in the direction of increasing numbers. Each is on a separate page.
Less & Greater Than Symbols
This is another simple poster, but with only the two large symbols < and > on it in a large font. The words “Less Than” and “Greater Than” are at a slant on the top and the bottom of each line of each symbol.
Number Blocks 0 to 9 Smallest To Largest
I have a free bar graph already on my store. This chart is the same idea, but it is stacks of blocks to illustrate the number of items each digit represents, zero to nine.
