Please enjoy this FREE hands-on activity for exploring rational numbers. I have found that one of the best ways of teaching rational number conversions is to start with what the heck each place value represents. I also start with a pictorial representation of the decimal. This hands-on exploration is made for students to understand why .2 is NOT the same as 2%.
