In this activity, students demonstrate their knowledge of sectionalism in the 13 colonies. Presenting students with sectional differences early in the year helps them to better understand why the United States faced such problems later in our history.
This activity includes:
-Graphic organizer to demonstrate full knowledge of the meaning of sectionalism
-Chart for students to complete to recall what they already know, predict how differences in the colonial regions will lead to tensions, and ask questions they may still have once the activity is complete
-3 separate readings for the New England, Middle, and Southern Colonies
-Venn diagram for students to complete to compare and contrast the 3 regions
