Each learning bundle includes an interactive notebook activity with a communication through writing task, cooperative learning activity, challenge task, independent practice page, and a journal assignment emphasizing the standard below.

The skills emphasized in this series are based on the following Common Core State Standards for Math:
* 5.MD.C.3.A- A cube with side length 1 unit, called a "unit cube," is said to have "one cubic unit" of volume, and can be used to measure volume.
* 5.MD.C.3.B- A solid figure which can be packed without gaps or overlaps using n unit cubes is said to have a volume of n cubic units.
* 5.MD.C.4- Measure volumes by counting unit cubes, using cubic cm, cubic in, cubic ft, and improvised units.

Focus on the Core Learning Bundles are designed to support your students’ mastery of the Common Core math standards through interactive notebook activities, cooperative learning, challenge tasks, independent practice, and assessment tools.
