The students will demonstrate their ability to work as an ensemble, developing a character as part using vocal techniques, emotion, active listening, tactics, and movement.

Description:
Working as an ensemble while developing a believable character is an essential skill for every musical theatre actor. By exploring various techniques students begin to understand the process of developing a character is more than reading the lines and speaking/singing with a loud voice.

Lesson 4: Emotion in Your Scene
Lesson 5: Listening in Your Scene
Lesson 6: Tactics in Your Scene
Lesson 7: Movement & Choreography in Your Scene
Lesson 8: Stage Business in Your Scene
Lesson 9: Working the scene*
Lesson 10: Final scene presentations*


*For advanced students, the scene could be one that leads into a musical number. Students can then prepare the scene and the musical number. If non-musical scenes are being used, the students could incorporate a modern song to the end of the scene.
