It is difficult for very young children to understand time because it is such an abstract concept. The activities included in this set help give vocabulary words such as year, month, week, day, hour, and minute meaning with representational pictures.
Pages 1&2 are cards that can be made into a ring book (or a couple of ring books if you print numerous copies) and used as a reference with each of the activities.
Page 3 is a fill in the blank activity. Laminate each card and ask students to use a dry erase marker to fill in the missing numbers, using the ring book as a reference.
Page 4 is a dice that can be used a number of ways. One idea is to play a game where each student has to roll the dice and name the amount of time related to the picture rolled. You could also have students find the vocabulary card that matches the picture rolled.
Pages 5,6&7 are vocabulary cards and spelling practice cards to help students practice writing the new words they have learned.
This product is not intended to teach children how to tell time, but rather to help them begin to understand the vocabulary words associated with time (year, month, week, day, hour, minute).
