Get your students to speak the language! They will love interviewing their classmates completely in French! "Where did you eat last night?" "What did you do last weekend?" This interactive partner activity is designed with relevant real life questions to be asked and answered entirely in French using regular verbs in the passé composé past tense.
Students are given eight past tense questions to ask their partner in addition to one question they must create on their own, allowing for higher level thinking. Partner A will ask completely different questions than those asked by Partner B. Each partner will write down the other's responses exactly as they say them.
This activity gives students practice using the various forms of the passé composé tense. Questions are asked in the second person "tu" form and should, of course, be answered and recorded in the first person "je" form. Then, once the interviews are complete, students will take the information gathered in the interview to write about their partner in the third person "il/elle" form, underlining all the passé composé verbs.
It is a great way to incorporate higher level critical thinking skills and real life, conversational scenarios in your foreign language classroom.
