“I didn’t know I could draw a unicorn!” Yay! I get all smiles from the kids with this project. The drawing is simple for young children, and these use the simple supplies of oil pastels and watercolors. Adding glitter at the end is fun but totally optional.
This project ties into lots of different fairy tales, the Uni the Unicorn books, and the Magic Tree House book about Jack and Annie rescuing a unicorn. These unicorns would also work well as a birthday party activity.
Time Required: 30-40 minutes.
The 13-page project includes:
-Project Overview + Learning Objectives
-About Unicorns + Word Wall (with Definitions)
-Recommended Books + Supplies
-Photo Tutorial for Drawing and Painting
-Student Gallery, Grades 1-2
-How to Draw a Unicorn, Step-by-Step
-Line Drawing of a Unicorn
