The Number Combination Race Game Mats are based on the Floor Race concept found in the Developing Number Concepts Using Unifix Cubes book by Kathy Richardson.
The game mats can be used by 2 or more players in race mode. Each player needs their own game mat. Choose the mat based on what number combination you want your children to work on.
Children can use the mats individually for additional practice.
The object of the game is for a player to complete their mat by creating combinations for the specific number using Unifix cubes.
The game is played in two stages. In the first stage, the players take turns rolling dice or using a spinner to determine the length of the first part of each column. Each player rolls or spins six times. The same number can be used more than once.
For the 5 number combination mat, players can use the lower numbered spinner.
For the second stage of the game, players use a dice or spinner to complete their columns on the game mat. A different colored Unifix cube is used for the second stage of the game.
The game continues until a player completes their mat.
Players can use the included worksheets to record their number combinations by coloring in the columns and completing the number sentence.
