Product Description
This is a powerpoint and extension project focusing on the artist Andy Goldsworthy. He creates beautiful environmental sculptures using natural materials. Through the powerpoint, students can view his amazing work. Students focus on finding shapes in the work he creates. (Powerpoints show the art and allow students to come and draw the shapes they see. The next slide highlights the shapes.) The slides then focus on colors the artist used. Students are encouraged to guess the season in each picture.
Extension projects:
Students go outside to explore nature. They create their own environmental sculptures and present them to the class.
Students secretly select one piece of art and write about it using descriptive words. The student reads their writing to the class, who must decide which piece of art the student selected.

CCSS.ELA-Literacy.W.1.5 With guidance and support from adults, focus on a topic, respond to questions and suggestions from peers, and add details to strengthen writing as needed.
CCSS.ELA-Literacy.W.1.2 Write informative/explanatory texts in which they name a topic, supply some facts about the topic, and provide some sense of closure.
