A unique twist on goal-setting that will engage middle school students! Prompts have been added to each line to help students write specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) goals. This I Am Poem is an excellent addition to a Growth Mindset discussion. Explanation of terms and an example are included, plus helpful teacher tips. Six B/W and color decorated papers for drafts or final copies. Students complete the starter prompts using the instructions--13 lines total.
For example, here are the last 4 lines of the instruction sheet:
I know… (what roadblocks could cause difficulty)
I will… (how you will deal with set-backs or difficulties to get
back on track)
I will evaluate… (when you will check your progress)
I am… (how you are feeling about taking action and making a
change. Use a vivid adjective! Avoid common, boring
