This game is called "Puissance 4," which is a game based on connecting four circles in a row. Students take turns speaking French phrases to claim spaces on the game board, competing to be the first to have 4 spots in a row. It plays similarly to TicTacToe, except with more possible variations.
This file aligns with Unit 1, Chapter 3 of the curriculum that I have designed. The instructional page, which shows the vocabulary from Unit 1, Chapter 1, is available for a free preview download. A cover page, instructional page, and game board are included in the complete file.
The English words/phrases (which students must say in French to claim their spot) include: Where do you live? What language do you speak? I speak French and English. I speak French a little. he speaks, no, yes, she speaks, she lives, I do not speak French. I do not speak English at all. I speak English. he lives.
