This is a Performance Assessment to accompany the first standard in the first unit of my Geometry course.
The task requires students to create five days of travel on the map (situated over a coordinate grid) and unit squares to miles. The task also requires students to find a mid-way stopping point for each day. The task also challenges students to think backwards in applying the Distance Formula & the Midpoint Formula.
Know precise definitions of angle, circle, perpendicular line, parallel line, and line segment, based on the undefined notions of point, line, distance along a line, and distance around a circular arc. (G-CO.A.1.)
To show that students are at a Level 3, students must be able to:
*apply the distance formula & the midpoint formula
*check for errors in their work by analyzing if their results seem reasonable
