This vocabulary unit focuses on teaching students common prefixes and associated vocabulary words. I have used this unit in fifth and sixth grade classrooms with the general education population. This was the intermediate level of three vocabulary groups, so I gave them a silly name of "bingle bangles." Each group had a different name associated in order to keep assignments separate.
It includes a notes sheet with six prefixes and a box to record drawings or other word associations and "ways to remember" the prefix meaning. Each list comes with twenty vocabulary words. It was introduced and used over the course of two weeks, with homework assignments and an assessment. Answer key and definitions are included.
