Writing To Teach

This unit is genre-specific. That means all of your students will be asked to provide information about a topic of their choosing. Students will be asked to experiment with nonfiction text features as they work through the writing process. You will take the students through a few lessons that will allow them to really study some nonfiction texts. Students need to have a good understanding of the genre so that they have a clear vision for what they are trying to write. Lastly, your students will want to identify as the expert for their topic! Make sure the students know how excited you for them to “teach” you about their topic!
