During the course of instruction, students will learn to (1) identify the variables that determine the inertia and momentum of objects before deriving a mathematical formula to help calculate momentum, (2) identify the variables that determine the force applied to objects in order to derive a mathematical formula for the calculation of force, (3) solve problems relating to the momentum, force, mass, and acceleration of objects using Newton's First and Second Laws of Motion, and (4) design a demonstration that illustrates Newton's Third Law of Motion in action.
