This file is a PowerPoint (for Mac or PC). It does not have fancy animations...but it does have a great visual way to show unit analysis, including step-by-step directions for students to follow. I introduce unit analysis with a method I made up using boxes rather than fractions and then I show how the boxes can turn into fractions. By the end of the lesson, students will see the box method and learn the fraction method.
There is one page of practice problems at the end of the lesson.
The preview file is a quicktime movie where each slide progresses to the next at about 3 seconds. I suggest you pause the video so you can view each slide as it appears. The REAL file is a PowerPoint where you progress to the next file by clicking your mouse or using the arrow, so the timing of your lesson will be up to you. The file for purchase includes an answer key to the worksheet.
