Using assessment to both drive learning and assess learning is critical if we are working at the point of learning for each student in our class. To help develop a clear list of learning intentions and the assessments that will help us understand the growth for each student, we have developed a simple proforma to add and use when developing a unit of study. The proforma firstly reminds us what formative and summative assessments are, and then provides space for our learning intentions to be added. A simple check list sheet for keeping track of student learning is included.
