These 12 page unit circle guided notes delve into the mathematics of the unit circle. Focus is placed on an understanding of side lengths of 45 – 45 – 90 triangles and 30 – 60 – 90 triangles. This understanding is then transferred to the unit circle.
Students will calculate the coordinates of the unit circle using right triangles. Students will also calculate the sine and cosine of the non-right angles in the above mentioned triangles. They will connect the sine and cosine of these angles with the coordinates of the unit plane. Radians are NOT introduced in these guided notes. Students will have a deep understanding of the unit circle after completing these notes. These notes are not intended to tell students the coordinates, rather the students figure them out through connections.
Also included is a page to take additional notes, as well as a blank unit circle that can be used as a test or quiz.
A complete answer key is provided to guide your students in the mastery of the unit circle.
