Product Description
Language Program is divided into 6 cycles per year about 1.5 months per cycle. Each cycle/unit plan combines areas of Language curriculum: reading, writing, oral, media.
Cycles include lessons with descriptions of lesson that can be done to teach in literacy block. The units link to either Science or Social Studies unit. These units were planned for a grade 4/5 combined class but can easily be used for either a grade 4 or grade 5 class.

Learning Goal:
We are learning to write recounts
by using graphic and print organizers such as mind maps, concept maps, timelines, jot notes, bulleted lists. We are learning to organize ideas and order events logically in a recount.
Reading: 1.9
Learning Goal:
We are learning to identify point of view presented in a text. Whose point of view is being explored? Whose point of view is not being explored? How do you know?
Oral: 1.8
Learning Goal:
We are learning to identify point of view after reading, watching or listening to a text.
Media: 1.5
Learning Goal:
We are learning how to identify point of view in different bullying scenarios. We are learning how to responding to bullying and cyber-bullying. We are learning about how different people with varying points of view understand and react to different forms of bullying?
