Language Program is divided into 6 cycles per year about 1.5 months per cycle. Each cycle/unit plan combines areas of Language curriculum: reading, writing, oral, media.
Cycles include lessons with descriptions of lesson that can be done to teach in literacy block. The units link to either Science or Social Studies unit. These units were planned for a grade 4/5 combined class but can easily be used for either a grade 4 or grade 5 class.
