What is a Flipped Classroom?
Do you have 1:1 technology in your school?
If so, you may need to begin looking at turning your old paper and pencil lesson plans into online, interactive lessons. This is where a flipped classroom comes in.
A flipped classroom is one that flips the traditional lecture and homework structure. Students are assigned podcasts, video clips, or readings to do at home that would have traditionally been presented by the teacher as a lecture. The application (traditionally homework) is now done in class so that students have access to the teacher for help as needed.
UNIT PLANNING FOR A FLIPPED CLASSROOM offers explanations and tips based on my real life experiences flipping my 10th grade ELA classroom. I have included planning tools for you to print and use as well.
