When was the last time you sent a postcard? Students explore the poem and categorize their answers onto postcards. Can be used to stick into books, or postcards can be enlarged and used to decorate classroom walls.

- Post Card - the Tone Rating!
Students explore tone and how the poet has achieved this by creating their own ranking system.

- Understanding the Poet
After reading the interview with Peter Skrzynecki (available through the Department of Education and Training NSW website) use the brainstorm as a starting point to extract the poet's intended meanings for his work.
