This unit test primarily covers historical skills and includes a few questions on prehistory. Historical skills tested include contextualization, corroboration, inference and chronology.
Students first have to read an original murder mystery complete with witness statements from five possible suspects. Then students must evaluate the reliability of each witness statement and make a prediction of who committed the murder. Students must back up their predictions with evidence. My students truly enjoyed completing this portion of the test!
Students also have to answer vocabulary fill-in-the-blank questions based on the murder mystery story. Students must label a timeline to demonstrate their understanding of BCE/CE numbering. Finally, there are five multiple choice questions on prehistory. This portion of the test pairs nicely with my Great Human Odyssey Video Notes resource.
The test includes an answer key. However, be advised that the murder mystery questions are all free response and answers may vary so there are not answers for that portion of the test listed in the answer key.
