Students are asked to make a word using the abbreviations of states. For instance, Maine is ME and Missouri is MO. Put the abbreviations together and you have “memo”.
This activity was created as enrichment for over achievers. Perhaps the rest of your class is struggling to learn states and capitals. Your over achievers will enjoy doing this activity.
Your students will beg for more with this exciting state activity. You can use the 32 slide Power Point as a team competition of for individual responses.
