PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

United States Geography and Regions – A Fourth Grade SMARTBoard Introduction is a SMARTBoard 4th grade level instructional presentation
It includes: Two SMARTBoard presentations (merged into one presentation) of the text along with one fully interactive presentation slides that are also available in PDF format to print and issue as classwork, homework, or attach/incorporate into an interactive notebook (after matching definitions with pictures, definitions may be secured to interactive notebook and edge of matching picture can be secured on top of it so it may be flipped up for study purposes). Students can also complete the activity during the presentation as reinforcement for the presentation.

The first half presentation includes:
• Introductory terminology (mineral, erosion, tributary, plateau, and basin).
• Resources in the U.S.
• Eastern U.S. geography (Coastal plains, Appalachian Mountains, Great Lakes, and Mississippi River).
• Western U.S. geography (Rocky Mountains, Cascade Mountains, Sierra Nevada Mountains, Continental Divide, Great Basin, plateaus, and the Great Plains).
• Hawaii and Alaska descriptions


The last slide is white-background and used for the printable. The printable is already in PDF form in the package. The white-background page is not included in the total pages. I include it in case you would like to change any of the data and recreate the printables.

The interactive/review slide and printable:
• This activity has students identify map locations through a matching activity. The included locations: Great Basin, Great Plains, Coastal Plains, Cascade Mountains, Great Lakes, Appalachian Mountains, Mississippi River, Rocky Mountains, Continental Divide, and the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

The second half of the presentation includes:
• Introductory terminology (region, economy, agriculture, and interdependent).
• Regions of the U.S. (locations).
• Characteristics that can define regions (architecture, food, music, etc.).
• Sharing common natural resources between states.
• Interdependence between states.
