This lesson also contains two political cartoons (pre cold war and during cold war).

Also included are two primary sources (letters written by each) from a soviet diplomat and a US diplomat. These are great for analyzing and comparing and contrasting their opinions during these strenuous times. Discussion questions for the letters are also included.

These are perfect documents for comparing the viewpoints/perspective of the two powerful nations.

This lesson was used as a demo lesson for 9th grade honors and can be modified in a number of ways. It allowed for group work, primary source analysis and discussion.
