Students have fun playing ALL IN while reviewing the units they learned in Level 3 of the Barton Reading & Spelling System. My students tend to forget about the units after learning them and moving on to other lessons, but playing this game helps keep the units fresh in their minds. Students should have completed all of Level 3 before playing this game.
ALL IN reviews the units:
-ang, -ing, -ong, -ung (-ng family)
-ank, -ink, -onk, -unk (-nk family)
-old, -oll, -olt, -ost (long o family)
-ild, -ind (long i family)
ALL IN is played similarly to the classic UNO game, but students play their cards by matching the numbers and/or the unit family. Sixty word cards and nineteen special cards make up the deck. Groups of 2-6 students can play the game.
Simply print the cards on cardstock, laminate, and cut out. The cards are in black and white to save color ink and because students do not match colors when playing this game. Game directions are included.
