Product Description
This product contains practice problems on solving for the unknown number in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division problems.

There is 1 classwork and 1 homework sheet that includes unknown numbers for all 4 operations. There are 2 quizzes (5 questions each) on solving for the unknown number. The quizzes are broken up into addition and subtraction on #1 and multiplication and division on #2 so you can assess each objective separately. An answer key is included.

The Common Core objectives for 3rd grade are listed at the top or bottom of each sheet:

CCSS.Math.Content.3.OA.A.4 Determine the unknown whole number in a multiplication or division equation relating three whole numbers. For example, determine the unknown number that makes the equation true in each of the equations 8 × ? = 48, 5 = _ ÷ 3, 6 × 6 = ?

CCSS.Math.Content.3.NBT.A.2 Fluently add and subtract within 1000 using strategies and algorithms based on place value, properties of operations, and/or the relationship between addition and subtraction.

This could also be a good review of the 4th Grade Common Core Objective:

CCSS.Math.Content.4.OA.A.2 Multiply or divide to solve word problems involving multiplicative comparison, e.g., by using drawings and equations with a symbol for the unknown number to represent the problem, distinguishing multiplicative comparison from additive comparison.
