Introduces high school students in any course to the basic expectations of research. Provides an overview of key elements of the research process: framing the project, identifying keywords, evaluating sources, finding reliable sources, locating information within sources, identifying main ideas, and citing sources. This activity taps into background knowledge about the research process and provides guided notes for class discussion. The activity can be completed in nearly any fashion; individually, in pairs, small groups, or a full class depending on your needs. Documents can be fully edited and modified, created with MS Word and can be opened with any application.
