This is a fun activity that supports different modes of learning while helping students learn about adjectives or the reading strategy of visualization. Students watch the Schoolhouse Rock video "Unpack Your Adjectives", read over the lyrics, and circle at least 15 adjectives they can find in the song. Then they choose four of the words they circled and draw pictures of them on the back of the worksheet. When I teach my 6th graders about visualization I use this as an intro activity to help them make connections between descriptive words and the ability to picture text. The product is in Power Point format so you can link easily to the video on TeacherTube and edit the directions/activity. I recommend printing off the 2nd and 3rd slide to create a back-to-back worksheet for students.
