The novel is primarily for students in grades 10-12. It is a stand-alone novel although there are three sequels in the series as well. For each chapter of the book, there is a worksheet that includes 12 to 20 vocabulary words and 6 to 11 comprehension questions. Answers for most of the comprehension questions are found in the reading; a few questions ask the reader for their opinion or to make predictions and justify their answers. Also included is a full answer key, novel test, and seven review quizzes. Also included is a character chart for the students to complete as they read filling in information about what each of the characters looks like, how they act, whether they are an adult or a teenager, why they were unwound, and why they are important in the book. This unit as written is suitable for students with or without a disability.
