Get your students up and around with this engaging review game. This game focuses on MS-LS1-2. Questions cover the following cell structures and their functions: nucleus, cell membrane, cell wall, chloroplasts, and mitochondria. Diffusion and osmosis related to molecules moving across a cell membrane are included also.
Similar questions are presented in two different games. One game uses small cards and a grid where students move around the room finding cards and entering the answers on the calendar like grid. The large card game has students work to read the question on the bottom of the page and find the answer on the top of another page. The pages are numbered and students write down the page number as they go, checking with the teacher along the way. Students can start at any card and will end at the card they start at.
The small card game has 30 questions and the large card game has 20 questions.
This is a review after a unit on the following standard:
NGSS MS-LS1-2: Develop and use a model to describe the function of a cell as a whole and ways parts of cells contribute to the function. [Clarification Statement: Emphasis is on the cell functioning as a whole system and the primary role of identified parts of the cell, specifically the nucleus, chloroplasts, mitochondria, cell membrane, and cell wall.]
