Ideal for the Kodaly or Orff inspired Music classroom

This balloon themed fly-swatting listening activity is for practicing the rhythmic concept of sixteenth notes (ti-ka-ti-ka). Other rhythms include the quarter note (ta), paired eighth note (ti-ti) and the quarter rest (ta rest).

Project onto a whiteboard or Smartboard for best results.

The first set of 16 slides have one rhythmic pattern per slide for you to prepare your students before playing the game. The next set of 12 slides each have two rhythmic patterns per page and come with an embedded audio file. The third set of 6 slides have four of rhythmic patterns per page each with two embedded audio files.

Stick notation with note heads is used.

This activity could be used for as a team game. It could also be used for assessment purposes.

Instructions for the game are included.
