*** Up & Clean, Down & Dirty Behaviour Poster ***
The basic needs (Willam Glasser's "Control Theory) and descriptors on a colourful poster:
Love & Belonging, Freedom, Fun, Power PLUS Safety and Survival
Can be used in conjunction with lessons from Diane Gossen's "Restitution Self-Discipline" to help teach students about their basic needs and "Up & Clean and Down & Dirty" behaviour. The goal is to have students identify ways they meet their needs in "Up and Clean" (positive/helping) ways and "Down and Dirty" (negative/hurting) ways.
The base of the tree represents the need for safety and survival. If these needs aren't being met, a person will be unable to meet the "branching" needs: Love & Belonging, Freedom, Fun, and Power
Can be used as a a background in a SMARTBoard file or printed as a poster. Teachers or counsellors may also wish to laminate the poster to make it re-usable with whiteboard markers.
