My rationale for including this song in spelling subject area: I have worked with many children with learning difficulties and they often can not sing the alphabet song nor name the letters of the alphabet and hence find saying the letter names required for spelling or handwriting very hard.

Being able to print the 26 letters of the English alphabet in a minute without any visual cues by the end of year 1 is a measure I often assess/test in children.

The rate of letters/min required obviously increases as children progress through their schooling. There is great research based info on this topic, if you would like links to more info, please let me know.

I would love to hear any feedback/comments you or your children have as you enjoy these resources, thank you!!
