Looking for an activities that will keep the fun in upper elementary math? Here’s a set of 96 math task cards for practice with fourth grade and fifth grade math topics!
Click on the images above to go directly to the previews of the four riddle card sets included in this bundle!
Here's how math riddle task cards work:
Choosing from four numbers on each card, your students will determine the answer by solving the clues and eliminating three of the options. With each riddle task card they complete, your students will practice a variety of problems in...
* Factors through 100
* Multiples through 100
* Exponents and square numbers through 100
* Multiplication of three-digit numbers by two-digit numbers
Because the graphics in these sets aren't seasonal, you'll find that you can use these resources at any time during the school year, whether you're currently teaching the topics or you want to add some spiral review to your math centers to keep your students' skills sharp!
Student recording pages, answer keys, and a themed board game are also included for each set.
Here are some ways that you might use these task cards in your classroom:
► Use in a math center for individual or partner work
► Use with your document camera for whole class review or to focus attention at the
beginning of your math lesson
► Use as a skills review rotation (aka "Scoot"), individually or with partners, with
students moving to stations around the classroom to solve the clues
► Use for morning “bell ringers”
► Use as challenge work or for early finishers
► Use as an activity with classroom volunteers – they can complete as few or as
many as time allows!
► Print in black and white to use in interactive notebooks. Give one card to each
student and have them write about their thinking in solving the riddle.
