These matching upper and lowercase letters can be used in a literacy or daily 5 center in a variety of ways. This can be used as an individual learning activity or a cooperative learning activity.
1.) Students can lay out cards and find letter matches
2.) Students can play Go Fish or Old Maid and ask each other for upper or lower case letters to make the match
3.) Students can play Memory
The letters are 4 different colors to also provide for a variety of options. When students are just beginning to learn their upper and lowercase letters smaller sets could be selected with only 1 or 2 letters for each color so the colors give them clues to the matches. Another level of challenge is to choose one color and have them match the 6 -8 letters for that color. To make it even more challenging print the letters in black and white so there are no color clues.
There are blank cards at the end so that you could add any other fonts or repeat letters that are providing any particular difficulty.
There are also recording sheets so students can be held accountable for their work. The recording sheet comes in two styles: ABC and random order.
