This is a simple writing and presentational activity in which students write a short story about two different people. Ideally, the teacher will provide each student with magazine cut-outs of different people. The teacher could have students draw two people, choose two famous people, or have students supply their own pictures.
Students are directed to write about the lives of each person as well as how the two met. The activity then has students share their stories by reading aloud, in order to practice pronunciation and presentation skills.
This is a low-pressure writing activity that allows students to be creative and show what they know in the target language. I use it early in the AP level as a type of diagnostic. Sometimes I add in specific requirements regarding grammar or vocabulary.
For grading, I typically use the AP Spanish Language presentational writing rubric.
